Layers & Life

Updated: Feb 19, 2020

As a pour artist (no pun intended), it takes so many layers to produce the outcome! I reckon that’s the same with people. All the different layers we go through produce who we are right now—in this moment. Whether we’ve had major trauma. Broken hearts 💔. Financial struggles. Loneliness. Or, maybe you’ve not experienced trials yet. Maybe you never will. Maybe one is just around the corner. What I’m saying is we all have layers and how you react to one layer indicates your reaction to the next layer and the next and the next. If the layer you're going through is challenging, are you gonna sit festering in it, blaming and shaming, hanging on to that anger and hate, or conquer it? Because if you fester it will affect your next layer. You’ll take it out on everyone—you and those around you. Those layers mold us. Move us. And, either chain us or free us. “On a good day, enjoy yourself; On a bad day, examine your conscience. God arranges for both kinds of days So that we won’t take anything for granted.” ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭MSG‬‬
